Bulls News · Hargrove’s Grand Salami Powers SLAM! Past Pirates

Daemein Hargrove pounded a 1-2 pitch over the left center field fence for a grand slam in the top of the seventh as the Bulls rallied for 8 runs in the inning to top Moapa Valley. The Bulls entered the final frame trailing by one. With the Bulls trailing 4-3, JonLuke Hobdy led off the  seventh inning with a single to left and Ozzy Zawislak flared a ball over the first baseman’s head to place runners at first and second. Jareyn Yamaguchi’s bunt was misplayed loading the bases for Jake Balsterholt who powered a 2 strike pitch to center field to score Hobdy and tie the game. Zawislak and Yamaguchi were able to advance on the throw from center putting runners at 2nd and 3rd. Smiley Zamora was intentionally walked loading the bases and setting up Hargrove’s damaging blast. SLAM! was able to plate three more runs in the inning to take an 11-4 lead. Zawislak came to the mound in the seventh in relief of Anthony Kopecky to close out the Pirates and notch the victory 11-5.
